Live Arrival / DOA Policy
At Coral Life, we take great care in packing and shipping livestock to give corals and fish the best possible chance of arriving healthy and in good condition. Because live animals are perishable, it is important that all customers review the policy below before placing an order.
Claim Requirements
In the rare event of a DOA (Dead on Arrival), you must contact Coral Life within 2 hours of delivery to qualify for review.
To submit a claim, email [email protected] with:
- your order number
- clear photos of the unopened bag
- clear photos of the deceased coral or fish
Claims submitted after the 2-hour window may be denied.
Delivery Requirements
To qualify for a DOA claim:
- the package must be received on the first delivery attempt
- someone must be available to receive the package at the time of delivery
- the livestock must be brought indoors promptly after delivery
Customers are responsible for monitoring tracking information and being available on delivery day.
Approved Claims
If a DOA claim is approved, Coral Life may issue store credit for the livestock portion of the order.
Please note:
- original shipping charges are not refunded
- shipping charges will still apply on any replacement order unless otherwise stated
What Is Not Covered
Coral Life is not responsible for losses caused by:
- carrier delays
- missed deliveries
- incorrect shipping information entered at checkout
- failure to receive the package promptly
- improper acclimation
- tank conditions after arrival
- coral or fish health issues that occur after successful delivery
Weather and Shipping Safety
Shipping may be delayed when weather, carrier conditions, holidays, or livestock safety make transit unsafe. Our goal is to ship livestock only when conditions give the best chance for a safe arrival.
